I bring to you the story
of the Dragon and the Toad.
A tale lost to the world
from a long, long time ago.
A dragon found a little toad
and thought he’d have some fun.
He threatened to eat the toad.
“Little Toad, you’d better run.”
Said the Toad to the Dragon,
“I’m much greater than you see.
It’s not a boast, but a truth.
You should be afraid of me.”
“I know you’re quite majestic,
renowned for might and wealth,
but as a creature of death,
I can strip away your health.”
“Little Toad I can see that
you were born with a big mouth.
You speak in tongues way too bold.
What are you talking about?”
"Dragon, you’ve got fire, flight and riches,
and of course, they make you great.
My power is the greatest.
You can’t resist your fate."
Now the Dragon was angry.
The Toad had challenged his might.
This was unacceptable,
so he ate him in one bite.
The dragon smiled in triumph
and thought himself the best.
His meal went down the wrong way
and the toad choked him to death.

I tried to do what was right.
People had been dying
and I feared for my life.
When I saw her late one evening,
I knew she was the one.
When she confessed to all my suspicions,
I knew what had to be done.
The next day I found where she slept
and opened the coffin with care.
There she lay like innocent prey
with her beautiful hair.
She awoke with a shock to see me
and pleaded for her life.
I plunged a stake through her heart
and killed my future wife.
I could’ve had eternal love;
Forever to see her face.
I wish I had an eternity
to enjoy her beauty and grace.

Pay No Mind Brantford, Ontario
Pay No Mind is an post punk trio.
Although their intention was to start a noise band, Pay No
Mind eventually drew on influences from bands such as Joy Division, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, The Doors, Mark Lanegan, The Ramones, and The Velvet Underground.
In 2018, Jade joined Pay No Mind playing the ashiko and djembe.
